Intro: In 1810 Chile declared its independence from Spain. In Chile, You Can Find the Driest Place on Earth, The Atacama Desert. Some parts of the region have never received a drop of rain. Easter Island was annexed by the country in 1888 and it’s 1,000 statues (moai) origin is thought to be the Polynesian seafarers builders. Valparaiso is an UNESCO World Heritage City that has been an inspirational place for painters and poets.
